Ladue Dads Club, "Supporting Our Young Adults for Over 50 Years"

Essential information about The Ladue Dads Club...

August 1, 2014

The Dads Club wishes to thank Ladue High School families for continuing and generous support! Parent contributions are critical in allowing the club to accomplish its goal of investing in the futures of our students.

The Ladue Dads Club is a not-for-profit organization dating back to the first year the high school opened its doors.

Over the last three years, the club funded 15 individual student scholarships totaling $27,000. In addition to the scholarships, the club provided an additional $36,000 in academic, extra-curricular, and athletic student grants.

Regular fundraisers throughout the year include a golf tournament, barbeques, a trivia night, and a poker tournament.

All parents are welcome to participate, so please consider helping the club this year through either your participation and/or/ your financial contributions. Our mailing address is: Ladue Dads Club, c/o Ladue Horton Watkins High School, 1201 S. Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63124.

Dads Club meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm, August through June, at the high school. Members will receive a mailer prior to each meeting with the specifics.

Please feel free to contact me directly with questions, and thanks again for your kind support.

Best Regards,

Andy Jacks

What Time Is It? DUES Time!

We’d like to start by thanking you for your support, both past and present. Dues are our primary source of funding. They are the one thing that we ask each and every family to pay.

Donate and pay dues online:

Through your dues and participation in other campaigns, we have been able to do so much for our school community. We have purchased items, invested in new ideas, supported our students and teachers, provided hospitality, opened lines of communication, and so much more.

Here’s a quick glance at what dues do for our community:

Classroom and Activity Grants
Staff Appreciation Breakfasts, Luncheon
Parent Network Lunch Series and Book Club
Student Clubs, Organizations and Sports
Parent Party - College Scholarship Fund Family Connections
After-Grad Celebration
Post-Prom Party
Campus Beautification
Conference Dinners

Our goal is to have every family pay dues, no matter how much they can give.

We suggest that you try to give at least $35 this year. We could do so much more if everyone participated!

Junior Parents: Please support the Post-Prom Party now! (If you give online, use the filter on the left or go to the second page.)

Senior Parents: Please support your After-Grad events early!

All Parents: Do you work for a company that matches your donations? Let us know what we can do to help get that match! Some of the companies that have matched donations recently are: Boeing, Belden, Energizer, Monsanto, and Wells Fargo. We appreciate the support!

We can make this a great year!

TI Navigator System - We're Almost There!

Although many of us are in full-fledged summer mode, we cannot deny the reality that school will resume in just one month! While our children have been attending camps, vacationing, visiting the pool, or hanging out at home, Ladue School District math instructors have been hard at work, preparing for the 2014-15 school year.

Thanks to the generous donations of many district families, the Ladue Education Foundation has raised $17,815 (or 78%) of the total required, $22,770, to fund the TI-Navigator System, which will impact every math student at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, as well as many Algebra 1 and Advanced Algebra 1 students at Ladue Middle School. This summer, high school and 8th-grade math teachers participated in professional development in order to learn how to best utilize the system. Much of the equipment has been purchased. However, we need to raise $4,955 more to fully equip the math department with the sophisticated TI-Navigator System (impacting all high school math students and many 8th grade math students) Cost: Approximately $22,770

The TI-Navigator System is highly engaging, cutting-edge math technology. The system creates a wireless classroom network of TI-Nspire CX handheld calculators, helping teachers break down barriers to student success and allowing for greater student/teacher communication and interaction.

“The most powerful aspect of the TI-Navigator System is how it allows me to have a window into the minds of my students,” said Barb Dwyer, the LHWHS mathematics teacher who is spearheading the Navigator program. “I can instantly assess the learning process itself and adjust instruction accordingly.”

Don't Leave Your eScrip Card Behind!

Thanks to Schnucks, and you, last year we earned nearly $4,500 for the school! This is a great way to make easy money for LHWHS and it doesn’t cost you a dime! Get a card for your students, grandparents, friends etc….

Your student has progressed to high school, but how about your eScrip card? Is it time to “graduate” to the high school or to get a new card?
